Based on the Rules & Regulations formulated under the  guidelines of the Ministry of Finance, Government of India, National Savings Institute and Department of Posts, the primary role and functions of the  Directorate of Small Savings & Lotteries, Govt. of NCT of Delhi are to:

• Appoint agents under SAS, MPKBY and PPF Schemes
• Periodic renewal of agencies for better monitoring of the agents
• Safeguarding the interest of the depositors under various  Governmental savings schemes in Delhi
