Directorate of Small Savings & Lotteries, GNCT of Delhi works in close co-ordination with Ministry of Finance (DEA), Govt. of India; National Savings Institute, Govt. of India and Department of Posts, Govt. of India. The Savings Schemes and rules thereof are framed by the Ministry of Finance (DEA). The Savings are utilized in various developmental projects/schemes of the Government.

The main objective of various savings schemes is to inculcate savings habits in the lower and middle income class, which helps them in achieving their financial goals in future. The Government introduces new savings schemes/products from time to time.
